In the fall of 2003, Keith Lansley was appointed by Shenendehowa Central Schools as a Middle School Social Studies teacher and the Head Freshman Baseball Coach. Prior to his appointment at Shen, he spent two years as a History teacher and Junior Varsity baseball coach at Christian Brothers Academy in Colonie, NY. While at CBA, Coach Lansley also served as the Head Cross Country coach and as an assistant to the indoor track program. Before CBA, he was Graduate Assistant coach at The College of Saint Rose, working primarily with the Pitchers and coordinating the off season conditioning program, he also served as the Assistant head Coach/Pitching Coach of Schenectady Mohawks in the NYCBL . Coach received a Masters in Teacher Education from The College of Saint Rose in 2004. He currently teaches 7th grade Social Studies in Acadia Middle School and serves as the programs pitching coach.
Coach Lansley has served in several roles for the Shen baseball program throughout his years. He was the Head Freshman Coach for five seasons from 2004-2008 (56-30, .651 winning percentage) before being promoted to the JV Head coaching position. Coach Lansley served as the JV Head Coach for two seasons (2009-2010) going 27-15 for a .643 winning percentage. 2009 also saw Coach Lansley take over the role of pitching coach for the varsity and junior varsity teams.
Since becoming the varsity pitching coach the team’s pitching staff has been a perennial power in the Suburban Council producing 3 Pitchers of the year, Miles Kelly (2012), Aaron Kalish (2014), and Ian Anderson (2015), a two time runner up in Pitcher of the year voting in Bryan Warzek in 2014 and 2015. Since 2009 the varsity has posted an era of 2.02 while going a combined 130 – 32 (.793) Numerous members of the pitching staff have earned all conference, all section, and all state recognition under the pitching plan developed under coach Lansley. The 2015 team posted a staff Era of .933, while the 2014 team had 3 first team all league selections on route to the State Finals. In the summer of 2012 Coach Lansley was the head coach of the Clifton Park Bulldogs who captured the Eastern NY State 14u Babe Ruth Championship.
Before starting his coaching career Coach Lansley was a member of the 1994 Shenendehowa baseball that won the Section Championship and was ranked as high as #15 in the country by USA Today. He would earn the win in the section II championship by authoring a 12 strikeout perfect game against Schenectady High School. Coach Lansley would finish his high school career without giving up a run and only allowing 2 infield singles and 2 base runners in 3 career playoff starts. Coach would go on the play collegiately at the College of Saint Rose. At Saint Rose he would be a member of two NCAA Tournament teams. In 2000 he was the captain of the St. Rose team that would win its way to the Division II World Series in Montgomery Alabama. The 2000 season would see coach awarded first team all conference honors after a tremendous senior season.
Coach Lansley currently resides in Glenville with his wife Staci and their daughters Margaret and Katherine.
