2008 Shenendehowa baseball season kicks off with DH Tournament win...
March 24th

The 2008 Baseball season kicked off in fine fashion as the Plainsmen captured the Arundel Easter Tournament in Gambrills, Maryland this past weekend.

The Plainsmen begin the season 2-0 by defeating suburban Maryland Chopticon HS behind the 4 hit , 7 strikeout performance of senior RHP, Oneonta bound Jeff Carter {1-0} and the clutch hitting of Bryan Marotta {2 run single} and Dave balsalmo. {rbi single}.

In the second game , Shenendehowa defeated host Arundel HS 7-2 behind the 6 hit, 5 strikeout of senior RHP Jon Shippee. Alex Gong `s double, single and rbi along with David Balsalmo`s three singles and 2 rbi`s were the offensive catalysts to spark the Shenendehowa Plainsmen to the tournament victory.

The veteran Plainsmen coming off a disappointing 9-12 season in 2007 have shown improvement in all phases of the game from last season.

The team travels to Mahopac HS in Putnamy County downstate for a DH scrimmage this coming Saturday 3/29 at Noon.
