Coach Lansley

In the fall of 2003, Keith Lansley was appointed by Shenendehowa Central Schools as a Middle School Social Studies teacher and the Head Freshman Baseball Coach.  Prior to his appointment at Shen, he spent two years as a History teacher and Junior Varsity baseball coach at Christian Brothers Academy in Colonie, NY.  While at CBA, Coach Lansley also served as the Head Cross Country coach and as an assistant to the indoor track program.  Before CBA, he was Graduate Assistant coach at The College of Saint Rose, working primarily with the Pitchers and coordinating the off season conditioning program, he also served as the Assistant head Coach/Pitching Coach of Schenectady Mohawks in the NYCBL .  Coach received a Masters in Teacher Education from The College of Saint Rose in 2004.  He currently teaches 7th grade Social Studies in Acadia Middle School and serves as the programs pitching coach.

Coach Lansley has served in several roles for the Shen baseball program throughout his years.  He was the Head Freshman Coach for five seasons from 2004-2008 (56-30, .651 winning percentage) before being promoted to the JV Head coaching position.  Coach Lansley served as the JV Head Coach for  two seasons (2009-2010) going 27-15 for a .643 winning percentage.    2009 also saw Coach Lansley take over the role of pitching coach for the varsity and junior varsity teams.  The last two seasons the Shen Varsity pitching staff post an era of 3.25 combined, while the JV staff posted an era of 2.86 in that span.  After the 2010 season he accepted a promotion to the role of Varsity Assistant to become the teams full time pitching coach.

Outside of his duties for the Shenendehowa baseball program, Coach Lansley also serves as the Head Coach of the CPYBC Thunder in the Capital District Connie Mack fall league.  For 5 years before that he served as the Head Coach of the CPYBC Yankees in the same league winning the league in each of those 5 seasons.  He also participates as an instructor in the CPYBC Elite pitching camp and in the CPYBC Winter and Summer Camp programs.

From 1995-2000, Coach Lansley pitched collegiately at the College of Saint Rose, making 4 appearance in the NYCAC Tournament and two appearances in the NCAA Tournament before graduating with a B.A.  in Secondary Education.  As a senior in 2000 Coach Lansley captained the Golden Knights team that captured the NCAA Northeast Regional title earning them an appearance in the Division II College World Series.  Working primarily as a Starter during his years at Saint Rose Coach Lansley bounced back from a series of shoulder injuries, resulting in a medical redshirt in 1999, to garner a First Team All Conference selection as a senior with an 8-2 record.  Coach Lansley also played with the Electric City Giants, Albany Senators,  and Albany Athletics in the Albany Twilight league and Mountains Collegiate League during the summers off from Saint Rose.  He helped the Senator/Athletics capture a  Mountain Collegiate League Championship(‘97), 4 NYS Stan Musial Championship (’98, ’00 Tournament MVP, ’01, ‘02), 1 Stan Musial North Atlantic sub-Regional Championship (’98), 2 Ottawa International Baseball Festival Championships, and a Albany Baseball Festival Championship.

Coach Lansley graduated from Shenendehowa Central High School in 1995 after three years as a member of the Varsity baseball team.  Called up as a sophomore in 1993, he saw limited action working as a reliever as the Plainsmen were eliminated in the second round of the Sectionals.  In 1994, Coach Lansley stepped into the starting rotation and proved his worth going 8-0 with an era of 1.23.  Come sectional time he was called on to start the opener against Bishop Magin, He worked a complete game one hitter allowing only 2 base runners while striking out 10.  Coach Lansley, next started the sectional final against Schenectady High School.  In the final he authored the only Perfect Game in Class AA finals history, striking out 12 and allowing only 1 three ball count helping the Plainsmen to the Sectional Championship, eventually the Plainsmen would make it to the NYS semifinals losing to eventual State Champion North Rockland the number 25 ranked team in the Nation.  Coach’s senior season was not a prolific as his junior campaign as it was marred with injury from the beginning limiting his role in the field and on the mound.  He was however, able to go 1-2 with an era of 1.83 in 5 starts, the most memorable of which was a 1-0 shutout of Columbia that gave the Plainsmen the number one seed for the sectional playoffs.  In the 1st round of the 1995 sectionals the Plainsmen jump out to an early 6-0 lead only to eventually lose to Catholic High.  Coach Lansley did however continue his dominance in the playoffs pitching 5 shutout innings with the only base runner reaching on an infield single.  In three sectional starts in his career he was 2-0 with an ERA of 0.00 with  2 hits, 30SO's,  and 0 bb's over 19 innings of work.

Coach Lansley currently resides in Glenville with his wife Staci and their daughters Margaret and Katherine.
