Shenendehowa Baseball continued the tradition of being well represented on the Class ‘AA’ All-State teams in 2015. SHEN had 3 players honored with their performances this past spring season. Junior RHP Ian Anderson was named 2nd team All-State, Senior LHP Bryan Warzek was named to the 4th team and Senior LF Connor Douglas was named to the 8th team.
Junior Ian Anderson has verbally committed to pitch at Vanderbilt in 2017. He had recorded 91 strikeouts in 53.1 inns pitched this past spring season and held a 6 – 1 win/lose record with 2 saves. His opponent batting average was a mere .115 and his ERA was .656. Bryan Warzek repeats as an All-State performer from last year and was once again named to the 4th team as he was in 2014. His pitching record this past season was 5-1 with 2 saves and a .981 ERA. Bryan will be attending and playing at the University of New Orleans in the fall. Conner Douglas hit .432 this past season while patrolling left field for the Plainsmen. His 6 doubles, 3 home runs, 24 runs scored and 25 RBI’s led the team while hitting third most for the 2015 season. Conner will be attending Bentley College in September.
The Shenendehowa Plainsmen were 19 – 4 this past season. They captured the Northern Division title of the Suburban Council with a 9 – 1 record, and also the overall Suburban Council Championship with a 15 -1 record in the league play. The Plainsmen once again advance to the Section 2 Championship game for the fourth year in a row, but fell to eventual state runner-up Saratoga 1 – 0 on May 29th. The Plainsmen had previously won the Section 2 Championship in 2013 & 2014.
